Fresh Foods Manager, €38K-€40K (Dublin)

We are recruiting Fresh Foods Manager to drive and support the performance of the fresh food departments across all sites for our customer.

Day to day management of the fresh food operations across all sites


• Effectively support the deli teams, work closely with these colleagues in delivering the deli offer instore
• Support Site Managers and their deli teams to optimize sales, margin, participation and profitability across the fresh areas
• Engage deli teams with new initiatives to ensure buy-in
• Support stores in implementation of best practice through support visits, coaching, monitoring, observation and instore training of key deli staff
• Achieve all fresh food KPIs – e.g. margin, participation, sales and wastage
• Carry out operational checks of site delis
• Achieve implementation targets for new initiatives in store
• Work with relevant departments to ensure appropriate space allocation for deli department in new and revamped stores
• Support stores in the days before opening/relaunch to ensure that the deli offer represents best practice and the brand position, ready for business
• Work with new and revamp stores to ensure effective stock management (ordering and wastage)
• Drive consistent delivery of standards across the fresh food departments
• Continuously identify and present new concepts and trends in fresh food offerings and operations
• Work closely with Retail Manager to ensure best practice in deli departments
• Develop strong relationships with Site Managers



Food Safety:
• Ensure Food Safety management systems are implemented, maintained and monitored across all delis
• Support Deli Managers in prioritizing and implementing corrective actions
• Ensure all HACCP and food safety audits are achieved in line with targets



Health, Safety and Welfare Management:
• Strictly comply with standards and safe working practices as outlined in The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and subsequent Regulations, Acts or Amendments
• Strictly comply with all policies, practices and procedures, outlined in the our customers. Health and Safety Management System and Safety Statement
• Give full support to all Health and Safety Representative(s) in carrying out their duties

• Utilize all / any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available / offered
• Actively look for hazards when carrying out duties and take appropriate action to remove and/or report to Manager
• Operate all machinery and equipment as per manufacturer’s instructions
• Maintain security awareness at all times and escalate where appropriate

Required Skills/Experience:

•Minimum of 3 years experience as a Fresh Food Department manager is essential.
• Experience of fresh food management across multiple sites is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills;
• Highly driven with a strong work ethic;
• An understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets;
• Commerciality and brand awareness;
• Candidates will need to possess strong analytical skills, as well as good pc skills;
• Ideally candidates will have proven practical experience in the stock & ordering systems, best practice merchandising, maximizing promotions, margin management, stock loss & waste management;
• Level 3 HACCP/food safety;
• Have a real passion for the food industry and as such be creative with the fresh offering;
• A full driving license is required;
