Deli Supervisor (Ashbourne, Meath)

We are recruiting for a Deli Supervisor to join our customer in Ashbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established company.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:


General

Job Role Specifics:

Business Management
• Communicate specific business goals to ensure that each location management team is fully aware of and understands the business strategy
• Take final responsibility for the communication and implementation of the group business strategy within each location
• Conduct periodic reviews and observations on individual locations in order to determine where and why business goals are not been met. Prepare, implement, monitor and support a reversal of same
• Pro-actively monitor local and national business trends or developments specifically relating to consumer trends, health initiatives, etc. and initiate plans for maximization of same Identify new product and business development initiatives locally to each location
• Implement and maintain a budget planning process in consultation with finance department
• Implement strategic plan at local/territory level, monitor and report on effectiveness of same
• Ensure interface between strategic planning, budgeting, and financial reporting working closely with the General Manager

Territory Management
• Conduct benchmarking of local competitors against locations within the territory and report on same
• Fresh Food store layout and merchandising planograms
• Conduct space analysis on each fresh food and advise on recommendation as a result to change stock holding and layout
• Identify any poor performance issues and manage legally and positively
• Provide coaching and mentoring to new and existing managers on sales matters, financial matters and operational management
• Provide for succession planning across own territory to ensure consistency of store operations and customer service
• Pro-actively plan self-continuing professional development on a yearly basis across business and financial management fields of study
• Implement “Great Places to Work” strategy, monitor and review quarterly within territory Sales Management
• Ensure accurate reporting of sales through back office system
• Establish and monitor stock holding figures
• Take final responsibility for obtaining profitable sales results across locations
• Implement and monitor sales plan across locations
• Participate in the development of the group’s annual marketing plan, specifically advising on realistic sales forecasts for product categories
• Conduct periodic reviews and observations on individual locations in order to determine where and why sales targets are not been met. Prepare, implement, monitor and support a reversal of same
• Ensure product file is up-to-date and accurate
• Ensure product file is moving with sales
• Ensure 100% scanning compliance across locations
• Ensure store managers are appropriately trained to operate back office system efficiently as business intelligence tool
• Investigate all “irregularities” in sales data and prepare report on same

Project Management
• Execute with professionalism any or all special projects as assigned
• Effectively plan location projects
• Ensure projects are fully planned out before implementation
• Prepare project purpose, costs, timelines and targets
• Establish project implementation plan
• Establish and communicate with project stake holders and contributors
• Supervise implementation plan
• Monitor project effectiveness
• Co-ordinate, manage and monitor store re-fits/improvements
• Co-ordinate, manage and monitor maintenance schedules

Legal Compliance Management
• Take final responsibility for all legal compliance for all locations in line with various trading acts, laws etc., consumer protection legislation and employment acts
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies such as the PSI, HAS, FSAI & NERA across all locations
• Conduct in-house spot checks to ensure best practice operation periodically and prepare reports, follow up visits and re-training (where required)
• Ensure thorough investigation and reporting of all legal compliance violations and escalate where appropriate to group HR
• Ensure immediate corrective action for the further prevention of violations throughout all locations

Reporting and Administration
• Take final responsibility for the accurate and timely preparation, analysis and communication of all territory and operational reporting
• Take final responsibility for the accurate and timely preparation and submittal of all associated administration, documentation and paperwork (both internal & external)
• Prepare the required Business Intelligence Reports from back office system

Security Management
• Monitor all store activity relating to the management and maintenance of security and liaise with HR on all non-compliance
• Liaise with An Garda Síochána on hold-ups, robberies, break-ins, etc.
• Liaise with insurance companies on hold-ups, robberies, break-ins, etc. and manage claims
• Investigate any anomalies in store opening/closing on a monthly basis from reports received from alarm monitoring

Familiarization with Station Managers Responsibilities
Manager must familiarize themselves with station managers responsibilities listed below as they may be required to stand in for the manager at any time :

Back Office Management
• Daily Cash Reconciliation, Cash Control & ATM
• Daily Bank lodgments
• Management of cash discrepancies and reporting to Management Accountant
• Prime data entry – delivery dockets, invoices, cash reconciliations, & wetstock data
• Sales Reporting
• Dealing with breakdowns / system failure and reporting update to Head Office
• Organizing contractor call outs and reporting update to Head Office
• Communicating directly with Sales Representatives
• Communicating directly with Management
• Dealing with security issues
• Ensure all staff disciplinary issues are notified to

HR Manager Health, Safety and Welfare Management
• Lead by example through strictly complying with standards and safe working practices, as outlined in The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and subsequent Regulations, Acts or Amendments
• Ensuring and maintaining the level of hygiene is of the highest standard throughout the store and compliance by all staff members. Ensuring you are trained in all updated regulations regarding HACCP
• Take final responsibility within the store (including all non-customer areas) for the maintenance of safe working practices by staff, contractors and visitors
• Take final responsibility for health, safety and welfare of staff, customers, contractors and visitors while on the premises
• Ensure that all staff have undertaken, understood and comply with standards set during health and safety training and as documented in the our customers business.
• Ensure fire drills and completed as per Health and Statement and recorded with any or all follow-up action completed
• Ensure all staff are competent in the action to take in the event of an emergency e.g. Fire /theft / hold-up / emergency situation
• Operate, and ensure all staff operates equipment and machinery as per manufacturer’s instructions and company guidelines.
• Give full support to all Health and Safety Representative in carrying out their duties
• Participate in all/any Health, Safety and Welfare Training offered
• Utilize all / any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available / offered
• Actively look for hazards when carrying out duties and take appropriate action to eliminate
• Ensure that at least one staff member in the store has been trained in First Aid
