#10141 - Senior Accounting Specialist, €40k - €50k, Swords, Dublin or Apsley, Hertfordshire (Hybrid role)

We currently recruiting a Senior Accounting Specialist based in Dublin, Swords, Apsley or Hertfordshire for a competitive salary of €40k - €50k. We are looking for someone who is used to working in a busy department, can take direction, be flexible & work well within a team. 


Key responsibilities

The role would entail, but is not limited to the following:

  • Key in delivery the period end close, this would include:
    1. Responsibility for overhead accounts with commentary on variances to budget
    2. Support in analysis across the P&L
    3. Support in reviewing the balance sheet
  • We are moving towards systemized bank reconciliations, this role will support this project
  • Preparing/reviewing bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and ensuring they match ledgers
  • Review all banking activities to detect irregularities/differences and ensuring any found are fully investigated and/or corrected
  • Support the delivery of projects within the team. We have recently moved to Microsoft D365 and are keen to leverage its functionality to the full
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts. Whilst we are not currently listed, we aim for SOX compliance
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of tax and VAT returns
  • Assist with group and local audits
  • Provide cover for different functions in the accounts department in relation to holidays, sickness, training & overall assistance



Skills and Experience

We operate as One Team, whilst we have our individual responsibilities, we are also flexible and support each team as and when the need arises.

The key skills and experience needed for this role include:

  • Ambition to progress as a senior finance professional
  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA OR Fully qualified IATI
  • We expect to see a track record of exam completion and for you to have a plan in place to reach qualification. As a team we value self-development, and we will support you with the study leave and exam fees needed to complete your exams
  • Strong Excel skills including Index Match are essential
  • Highly confident in performing bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ability to work to strict and demanding deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team in a challenging environment
  • Be flexible and able to provide cover across all areas in accounts where required
  • Be comfortable working with multiple systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and diagnostic skills



Experience on the following systems would be an advantage:

  • Sage 200/Microsoft Dynamics D365
  • SharePoint
  • Power Automate/Flow
